On March 19, 2013, people from across the Nation will be celebrating National Ag Day, a program hosted by the Agriculture Council of America (ACA). ACA is dedicated to increasing public awareness of agriculture’s vital role in our society.
Ag Day is about recognizing the contribution of agriculture in our everyday lives. It encourages people to understand how food and fiber products are produced, value the essential role of agriculture in maintaining a strong economy, and appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing safe, abundant and affordable products.
With the world population increasing there is a greater demand for food and fiber products from the United States. ACA encourages young people to consider career opportunities in agriculture. While many producers, farmers, organizations, agencies, etc., will be heading down to DC for Ag Day, what will the rest of you be doing to celebrate that week?
Let us know! We want to hear your stories about how you promote agriculture here in Nebraska not only on Ag Day but every day. Drop us a note!
