Healthier Food Options Available for Consumers

The Grocery Manufacturers Association released the 2014 Health & Wellness Survey, which uses company self-reported data to assess industry progress on health and wellness activities related to product reformulation, portion-controlled packaging and communication of healthy lifestyle messages.

Connie Diekman, M.Ed., RD, CSSD, LD, is a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, Director of University Nutrition at Washington University in St. Louis. She also serves on the Facts Up Front advisory panel. Best Food Facts asked Connie her thoughts about the announcement that more than 30,000 healthier product choices have been made available to consumers between 2002 and 2013 according to the survey.
